I helped contribute to reverse proxy apache recipes on the gitlab project here:

These are primarily for creating virtual hosts in apache that allow gitlab CE to function behind a reverse proxy but they can be adapted for other use-cases that require reverse proxies, like rstudion, rocket chat, airsonic advanced, and others.
